Stellar Monarchs will be making a team change which will be effective by the time of our next fixture, at home to Glasgow on Friday 9th June.

Coming in to join the team is 20 year old Danish rider Bastian Borke, a complete newcomer to British Speedway. He is only in his second season of league Speedway in Denmark, but comes with glowing recommendations from both Hans Neilsen and Henrik Moller.

Bastian said this afternoon "I am very happy to be joining Edinburgh, I think I will learn a lot in Britain.

"I have also ridden a lot in Sweden last year, this season not so much, but also in Poland this season as well as Denmark.

"I have heard of the Monarchs and ridden against some of their riders – Jacob Hook, Lasse Fredriksen and Paco Castagna. I am looking forward to coming over."

To help make this change we will be using a 2-point rider as one of our reserves and for this first match, this will be Academy rider Dayle Wood. It will also mean that Lasse Fredriksen will fill the other reserve berth.

Most regrettably, this means that we have had to drop from the side both Kyle Bickley and Jacob Hook, young riders who we had hoped to bring the best out of this season. Unfortunately after two home league defeats we recognise that the team is not coming up to expectations, partly but not entirely due to bad luck, so action has had to be taken.

We wish all the riders, incoming and outgoing, every success in the future.
