Monarchs match magazine has scooped the coveted crown of Speedway Star Programme of the Year 2022!

Each year the national speedway magazine Speedway Star co-ordinates a review of all programmes in British Speedway to select their Programme of the Year.

The Club has a long held reputation for consistently delivering a high quality match magazine each season under the experienced eye of editor Mike Hunter.

Mike said, "It was a very pleasant surprise when I was told. I first started as editor in 1978 so to win this award after all these years of trying is very satisfying.

"Quite a lot of people chip in and thanks go to them all. I do see a lot of good programmes and it's nice that people think that we have the best one."

Monarchs' weekly edition has always rated highly but has not quite claimed top spot in recent years. However, 2022 is the year that Monarchs have clinched the title, scoring 98 out of 100 in the marking system which is the highest EVER mark.

Speedway Star Programme of the Year Co-judge Paul Rickett added, "It had a very professional feel about it and that was what really impressed me. Bright and breezy and a cracking publication.

The success of the Monarchs' match magazine was backed up by Armadale Devils taking second place in all of British Speedway. A wonderful achievement for a National Development League team and confirms the terrific work of the Monarchs editorial team.
