TONIGHT: All You Need To Know for Tonight's Farewell to Armadale Scottish Open

The day has finally arrived - say Farewell to Armadale with the 2022 Ratho Coaches Scottish Open Championship tonight at Armadale Stadium from 6:30pm. Read on to find out everything you need to know!

A fantastic field has assembled to compete for the 2022 Scottish Open Championship sponsored by Ratho Coaches and supported by EventScotland. It will be an emotional and poignant evening as it marks the final senior speedway meeting to ever be staged at Armadale Stadium. The action will get underway at the earlier than usual time of 6:30pm with gates opening at 5pm.

The line up: 1. Josh Pickering, 2. Chris Harris, 3. Aaron Summers, 4. Sam Masters, 5. Justin Sedgmen, 6. Replacement for Craig Cook, 7. Dan Bewley, 8. Lasse Fredriksen, 9. Leon Flint, 10. Richard Lawson, 11. Richie Worrall, 12. Max Clegg, 13. Jacob Hook, 14. James Sarjeant, 15. Theo Pijper, 16. Kye Thomson. Reserves Ace Pijper and Gregor Millar.

Craig Cook is unfortunately unable to ride in the meeting but hopes to attend to be apart of the occasion.

The format: Each rider will meet each other once over 20 qualifying heats. The top three scorers after the qualifying heats will progress directly to the Grand Final with the next four highest scorers going to the last chance Semi Final.

The winner of the Semi Final will secure their shot at the Scottish Open title by progressing to the winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Admission: Gates will open at 5pm with the prices as follows: Adult - £24, Senior/Student £21.50, Child 12-16 years old - £8.50, Child 5-11 years old - £2.50, Child under 5 years old - free.

You can pay for admission at the gates by cash or card. It would be much appreciated if supporters could paying by cash for admission could bring exact change to speed up entrance for all.

Gold+ Members will be admitted at no additional charge, with discounts available to Gold Members and Blue Reward Card holders.

It is anticipated that tonight will be a busy evening so it may be worth coming early if you can. The car parks will be busy and may fill up. If you don't park in one of the car parks then please park responsibly, ensuring that you do not block in any of our neighbours.

Supporters' bus: The supporters bus provided by Duddingston Private Hire/Ratho Coaches will operate as normal departing from the Waterloo Place in Edinburgh at 4:30pm. The return fare is £10 for adults and £3 for kids, payable in cash upon arrival at Armadale Stadium.

Match magazine: Unfortunately the printer has failed to deliver tonight's special edition match magazine in time. However, a free racecard will be available tonight at the stadium from the programme kiosk with the special edition magazine being available from the online Club Shop in the days to come.

Club Shop: Pick up your Monarchs merchandise tonight at the Club Shop - or head to our special stall to pick up some classic gear for just £5 per item with proceeds going to the Monarchs Fans Trust.

Special effects: A few extra special effects are in place to make the evening go with a swing, plus there will be a sensational firework display to round off the night.

Stick around for the Closing Ceremony following the presentation of the Jack Young Memorial Trophy to the winner of the Scottish Open.

Former riders: All Monarchs riders from the Armadale era have been invited to enjoy the occasion, plus others from the history of the Club. Those who hope to be present include: Peter Carr, Stewart McDonald, Kenny McKinna, Paul Gould, Steven Jones, David McAllan, Sean Stoddart, Ross Brady, James Grieves, Jonathan Swales, Matthew Wethers, George Stancl, Mitchell Davey, Luke Ruddick, Bert Harkins, Scott Lamb, Alan Bridgett, Brian Collins, Benny Rourke, Bobby Beaton. More also hope to make it along.

Frede Schott had planned to attend but unfortunately circumstances have changed preventing him from doing so. Frede sends his very best wishes to all.
