After our tense and exciting win over the Glasgow Tigers at Armadale last night the Parsons Peebles Monarchs look to finish the job and clinch a playoff berth as we travel to Workington on Saturday evening.

As it stands we may have done enough to clinch that spot already however a win by 7 or more points tonight means we are guaranteed and a win of any type would make it almost impossible for Redcar to catch us.

The Monarchs head south with a full line-up but the same cannot be said for the hosts who have a trio of riders missing. Heat leaders Craig Cook and Thomas Jorgensen miss out due to them taking part in Premiership Rider Individual and while guests are allowed for both with a bundle of Championship riders taking part in that event not to mention that there are 2 other Championship matches on this evening means guests were hard to come by.

Peterborough’s Ulrich Ostergaard steps in for fellow Dane Jorgensen with rider replacement running for Cook after Lewis Kerr was forced to pull out of the guest booking due to machinery damage. Of course with Cook top of the averages all of the Comets are eligible for a ride.

One further change for the Comets is at number 7 after Rob Shuttleworth stepped down a few weeks back. 2 point average riders are another in short supply in what has surely been a failed experiment this year and the Comets have struggled to find a rider willing and able to step in.

This week local youngster Paul Bowen is given the chance to see if he has what it takes.

Elsewhere Mason Campton is back in the line-up after a recent injury and Ty Proctor continues his excellent form this year. We also witnessed the scoring power of James Sarjeant on Friday and if he repeats that trick tonight then a tough match lies ahead.

So it’s all in our boy’s hands as we head to the North West looking to complete the job and clinch that playoff spot we have been chasing since back in April now, can the boys do it?
