Tonight's Caledonian Riders Championship has again fallen victim to the weather with an intense downpour just after one o'clock flooding the track.

It seemed that the weather forecast had got it wrong as we moved through the morning and into the early afternoon with little or no rain at the track and we were very hopeful that this popular event would go ahead. However, one very, very heavy shower left the track and parts of the stadium under water and with further heavy rain forecast for the rest of the day the match was postponed.

Event organiser, Scott Frame, was bitterly disappointed at the news having worked extremely hard on two occasions to make it happen. However, he immediately confirmed that he will set about organising everything again for the event that will now take place next Friday, 1st September. The planned Buxton match of that day will now take place later in the season.

Those who have purchased advance tickets for tonight's meeting can use them next Friday or apply by email for a refund.

We believe that we have to go back to June since we have had a dry Friday. Surely our luck will change next week?
