Our Club are proud to announce that for the 2017 season we will be known as the Edinburgh Parsons Peebles Monarchs.

Monarchs Fans Trust Chairman and former MSSC Chairman Len Jones is a senior official with Parsons Peebles and he made the announcement at tonight’s Season Launch in the Cairn Hotel, Bathgate.

At the end of a show brilliantly presented by the Campbell brothers, at which all of the team had chatted to the assembled audience, John Campbell and Alex Harkess called Len Jones to the stage. Len said "My boss is the Chief Executive Officer of the company, and as we were without a sponsor I approached him. He knew I was a speedway nut so he knew what I wanted!

"We both travel all over the world on business and kept missing each other, but when we eventually got together this week I tied him down and he made the offer to become the Monarchs' sponsors."

Alex Harkess admitted "I was speechless on Monday afternoon when Len told me that the deal was done." John Campbell added "It's all been organised without any involvement from us, Len's done it all."

The sponsorship has been organised at such a late stage that the race jackets with the sponsor's logo won't be available till opening night.

Parsons Peebles have been making electric motors and generators (rotating electrical machines) in Edinburgh, Scotland since 1898 when the business was formed by David Bruce Peebles. Currently they are based in Rosyth.
