The Management, riders, sponsors and supporters of the Border Roofing Monarchs gathered at the Village Hotel in Edinburgh on Saturday night to enjoy the End of Season Dinner and Dance to draw the 2016 season to a close.

Dan Bewley was a very popular visitor travelling from Cumbria for the evening. Slightly further travelled were our German trio of Erik and Mark Riss and Kevin Wolbert who flew in from Germany to be present but perhaps the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for skipper Sam Masters who had arrived back from Australia that morning.

It was a very enjoyable evening for all with Scott Wilson standing in for an ill Alan Bridgett and producing some hilarity with the rider interviews. It will be a long time before any of those present forget the Kevin interview. All riders spoke kindly of their time with the Club and hoped to be back again next season.

The night ended on a traditional note with the singing of Loch Lomond and the look of fear on Dan's face as the group of supporters encircling him came charging towards him and his teammates was quite amusing. Perhaps he thought that his collarbone, plated just a fortnight ago to aid recovery, would be broken again.

Everyone left looking forward to the 2017 season.
