WILL WE FINISH TOP?

The result at Ipswich on Thursday evening took us a massive step closer to confirming our position at the top of the Premier League at cut off date.

Peterborough, the only team that could overhaul us, took a huge beating at Foxhall by 61 to 29 to leave them now only capable of matching our current league points total with a massively inferior points difference. That means that if we pick up only a single point at Armadale on Friday against Berwick our top placing will be absolutely confirmed.

The win for Ipswich has moved them 12 points clear in the race for the final play off place and they are certainly in the driving seat to take that place although they cannot finish higher than sixth and could still lose out to Plymouth or Workington.

Our thoughts will turn to who will be our semi final opponents in the Play Offs. It will be either the fourth or fifth placed team at cut off date. That will either be Somerset, Peterborough or Sheffield although there is a very small chance that Glasgow could be pushed down to fourth place in the League.

But first the visit of Berwick to Armadale on Friday evening.
