It's been more than five weeks since Rob Branford crashed in heat 8 of our home match with Glasgow and he's not ridden since. However, he was back on a bike this afternoon and all looks good for his return to our team.

Rob made his comeback for his National League team, Rye House, in their match at Mildenhall this afternoon and came through it with flying colours. He scored an untroubled 15 point maximum and it didn't matter if he made the gate or came from the back he ended up at the front in each of his races.

Rob reported after the meeting, "I had no problems at all. I didn't even think about my shoulder during the racing and with five races out of the way I'm good to go for the next one. I'll be back in the team at Redcar on Thursday."

So good news on that front but for the moment we still await positive news from Sam Masters. Sam would be back on Thursday also but for the moment that's an impossible task. He goes back to hospital on Friday to have his hand/thumb injury reassessed and will have a better idea then of his likely period of absence.

Erik Riss has been a busy man. After his three in three days meetings in Scotland he was on the plane again first thing on Sunday morning on his way to a four team tournament Speedway Team Cup match. He rode for Herxheim scored 12 and his team finished third.
