"I've got a wee message from our trackman Ronnie Anderson to our wonderful fans out there!

He's looking for volunteers to give him a hand on Saturday 7th March to move the fence from the pits to the track in readiness for the new season. He's wanting to erect it, test it out and give it wash. So, if anyone would like to pop along to the track about 9.30/10 o'clock in the morning Ronnie would be grateful to see you! No need to let us know – just come along and lend a hand! More information next week.

Not long now to the Ricky Ashworth Benefit Football Match between Edinburgh fans and Glasgow fans. As if you didn't know, it's on 14th March with a 2pm kick-off. Ed the Monarch and I were invited to play in defence but, unfortunately, Ed washes his mane on a Saturday and I will be en-route home from holiday! Anyhow, it was suggested that if we did play then the goalkeeper would have difficulty in seeing past us! Let's hope for a huge crowd and that it makes lots of money for Ricky!

The 2015 SCB regulations came out last week and I noticed one or two interesting new rules. Helmet mounted cameras are to be banned. I presume that is because the mountings could compromise the protection that the helmet gives. I suppose a camera could be placed on the rider's chest similar to law enforcement officers! Another change is that if it's 'all 4 back' with no disqualification then riders are not allowed back into the pits. Mechanics have to come out onto the track! That is something that many fans have been wanting for a long time! The last thing anyone wants are unnecessary delays.

By all accounts, the Video Night this Friday at the Thomas Morton Hall in Leith looks like being an exciting evening! In addition to the best of 'away' speedway races there are likely to be visitors including Theo Pijper (who is Scunthorpe bound to at least June) with an update on his forthcoming Testimonial and I believe there will be some interesting snippets of news! As usual, it's going to be a cracking show not to be missed so make sure you nice and early to secure your favourite seat! I'm looking forward to seeing you all so, until then, take care.
