A Happy New Year to each and every one of you and I hope 2015 brings you health and happiness and much success in whatever you do!

I always say that when the new year comes in, we can countdown the weeks to the season beginning but more about that later. Let's get the 2014 quiz out of the way! Amazingly, there were fifty odd entries! Before I announce the winner here are the answers!

Q1 Texas Will's son is the one and only Craig Cook

Q2 Third in the 2014 Harrison's Scottish Open was Ulrich Ostergaard

Q3 Craig Cook won the Ben Fund meeting at Leicester

Q4 Ron MacNeill cut his hair when the Monarchs eventually were beaten! (no, he didn't streak along Princes Street!)

Q5 Top Monarch at Gillman was Justin Sedgmen

Q6 Somerset was the only track at which we didn't secure a win in 2014

Q7 Our two away draws were at Ipswich (45-45) and Newcastle (42-42)

Q8 Aaron's best away score of 4+2 was at Glasgow on April 20th

Q9 67 points scored at home twice was against Glasgow and Sheffield

Q10 Max Fricke's other Danish Club last year was Esbjerg

Well, there you have it! A maximum possible 55 points and I can tell you that three smarty pants got all the questions correct! Shall I name them? Okay then! Big round of applause for Mark Lamont, Sophie and Steven Lumsden! So, well done to a trio of know-alls! Actually, a further five would have had a full house but got the Ron MacNeill question wrong! No prizes but a bit of fun and thanks to all who took part!

No time now, but we'll have a chat next week about what's happening in the next few weeks. I also want to think about how I would line up the team if it was up to me! So, until then, keep warm, be good and take care. Bye.
