Glasgow Tigers arrive at Armadale on Friday night looking for vital league points as they cling to the hope that they can make the play-offs. The Scotwaste Monarchs are equally keen for a win to cement their position in the league's top two.

Ipswich's convincing win at Sheffield on Thursday evening draws them level with the Scotwaste Monarchs on 51 points and the Witches complete their league programme with home matches against Sheffield and Peterborough in the next seven days and then an away match at Plymouth on 5th September. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that they will finish on 61 points.

The only other teams that overhaul the Monarchs for a top two place is Berwick with three home and three away matches to come. Home wins will take them to 56 points but the will need to pick up something on the road at Scunthorpe, Sheffield or Somerset.

Scunthorpe's win at Redcar on Thursday night seems to cement their place in the top six but the last place still seems wide open with Newcastle, Redcar, Glasgow, Peterborough and Workington still in with a shout.

There were two Scotwaste Monarchs in action in a very wet meeting at Swindon on Thursday evening. Stevie Worrall was deprived of a maximum in his last race by Lakeside guest, Craig Cook. Craig was the top scorer for the Hammers with 13, more than double any of his teammates.
