It was a huge disappointment for everyone at Armadale on Friday evening when the rain came tumbling down just half an hour before start time and caused the postponement of our first Premier League match of the season.

Said co-promoter, John Campbell, "In hindsight we should probably have called off the meeting at 8 o'clock in the morning as some weather forecasts were suggesting rain by early afternoon. That would have saved us a four figure loss in irrecoverable expenses and would have saved everyone turning out on what became a very wet night. However, we've ben around long enough to know that the weather forecast is not always correct."

"Our volunteers were in the stadium at 7.00am as normal and proceeded with the long list of tasks necessary to stage a speedway meeting. With every hour that passed it became obvious that the rain was going to arrive later and by five o'clock not a drop of rain had fallen at the stadium and our track was under watered compared with our normal. We then had a light shower which cleared away again. When SCB referee, Ronnie Allan inspected the track at 6:30 he said that the track was still in good condition. However, that all changed within half an hour."

Readmission tickets, purchased at the gate or online in advance are valid for the restaging of the Sheffield match, for next Friday's match against Scunthorpe or can be used for any match up to the end of this season. If it is not possible to return this season then application should be made by email, for advance ticket holders, or by post, for those who purchased at the gate on Friday night, for a refund.
