WHAT IF IT RAINS

After so many weeks of great weather the rainy season seems to have returned to Scotland. In fact so much rain has fallen over the last few days that it is getting to the stage that our track staff will face a busy week to ensure that the first leg of the Play-Off final goes ahead at Armadale on Friday.

Getting that match on at Armadale on Friday is our primary option and we are making plans to ensure that is the case. The Armadale track always drains well so we never have a problem with water lying on the inside of the track making it soft and difficult to ride. Even if it was to rain from now until Friday morning we would still be confident that the meeting would go ahead in good track conditions.

However, we must also makes plans for the scenario that the rain does not go off at all on Friday rendering racing impossible. If that happens then we already have contingency plans in place. If a Friday staging is out of the question then we will run the meeting on Saturday, 26th October, instead. Somerset already have plans in place to easily cope with a twenty four hour delay.

Tickets booked online for Friday will automatically be accepted on Saturday, regardless of the date printed on the ticket.

So the message is clear. We will do everything in our power to stage the meeting on Friday, because that is when you expect to see us but if that proves impossible then we will run on Saturday with the meeting starting at 7.00pm.
