Armadale will stage the first semi-final of the British Speedway Championship this year, on Friday 19th April.

It’s the biggest meeting at the West Lothian venue since the British Under-21 Final in 2000, and the first time that any of the Monarchs’ venues have staged this meeting. The second semi-final will be at Sheffield six days later.

Monarchs are expected to have two competitors in the field, Craig Cook and Derek Sneddon. Cook finished an outstanding fifth in last year’s British Championship last year during his brilliant summer of 2012, and will be strongly fancied for the Armadale meeting no matter who else is in the draw.

Last year’s top four in the UK were Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris, Tai Woffinden and Edward Kennett, any of whom could be coming to Armadale.

Because of this major event, the Scottish Open will not be an early season meeting but is planned for August 2nd, again sponsored by David Harrison Ford.
