No sooner have we had confirmation that Craig Cook has broken his left wrist in two places than we receive the further news that Jozsef Tabaka has broken his hand riding in Poland and will be out for four weeks.

So the two men who scored maximums in our last home team match are both out of action, and both sitting on averages miles below their capability.

There's no doubt that the Scotwaste Monarchs had put themselves into a contending position for the playoffs, but whether we can maintain that position must now be doubtful.

Cook is on a rolling average of 7.78, while Tabaka remains on his 2010 average of 3.83.

It just means that the rest of the side will have to work even harder, starting with the visit to Newcastle tomorrow evening.

We wish Craig and Jozsef a speedy recovery.
