The rain just won't leave Armadale alone, but this week it wasn't so serious, just annoying drizzle, during which the Scotwaste Monarchs easily beat Scunthorpe 64-25.

As the score indicates it was a very one-sided match, and the Scorpions had only David Howe to seriously challenge the home riders.

Thankfully, there were two outstanding heats to waken the crowd up, both between Howe and Craig Cook. In Heat 7 David gated in front with Craig poorly away, but the home rider flew through the field and chased down Howe, following which they criss-crossed in a series of overtakes until Cook established himself in the lead.

In heat 11 it was the other way round ? Cook led but Howe made up the deficit, made an outside move on the last lap and then burst through on the final bend.

Two of the best heats of the season, but there were few other moments to remember as the home riders piled up the points.

Kevin Wolbert, Andrew Tully and Matthew Wethers were all unbeaten and Cook lost only to Howe.
