Craig Cook crashed out, Andrew Tully got going after a slow start and old favourite Ryan Fisher won the meeting at the traditional post-GP Welsh Open yesterday.

Craig's tumble came in his second race when Ben Wilson came down in front of him and he flew into the air fence. The fence actually parted and Craig was caught by his bike, suffering a wrist injury.

He headed for hospital in Whitehaven with bad swelling, but has been cleared for racing at Glasgow.

Andrew Tully started with just one point from his first two rides, but finished with 8 points.

Ryan Fisher won the final after scoring 11 in the qualifiers. He has an excellent record in open meetings at Newport
