Jay Herne is hopeful that he will be fit to ride on Friday, after escaping with just concussion from his crash last Friday.

He says ?I'm not too bad ? it was just concussion. They x-rayed me from my waist up to my neck and head, they x-rayed everywhere just to make sure everything was all right. Everything was all right, just a bit stiff and sore down my right-hand side.

?I can't remember anything at all. I can vaguely remember my first ride, after that nothing at all. I know I had a crap start to the meeting.

?I've been told I might have made a better start in my third race but I don't remember. I just remember coming to on my way to the Hospital, then drifting away and coming to again in the Hospital.

?Then they wanted to cut my kevlars off and I wouldn't let them! They said they wanted to x-ray me but I told them not to cut the kevlars.

?They cut my helmet straps off so I need a new helmet now, that's going to cost me over ?400 and I'm not looking forward to that.

?Fingers crossed I'll be OK for this Friday, I'm still tired. When I was in Hospital I was tired all the time ? they woke me up Saturday morning for breakfast, then I went back to sleep and slept all day Saturday. Then they asked me if I wanted to go home but I said there's no-one there to get me at the moment.

?So they suggested I stay in for another night, so I did. I'm still feeling sleepy and a bit sore, my ribs, leg and right shoulder.

?I've still to go round to the garage and wash my bike, hopefully that isn't damaged because the price for the helmet is bad enough.?

Jay faces a major journey to ride for us each week, and last week's didn't go well at all!

?I had a crap start to the weekend as well because I picked up my van on Thursday night, and left to go to Birmingham. I got 70 miles up the road and the van died, the gearbox died. I'd just bought that van as well!

?So I had to turn round, head back home around midnight, unload the van, set the clock for about 7 to take the van back. I got my money back, then hired a van, loaded it up and set off to drive to Edinburgh!

?I wasn't that well to ride on Friday night anyway, I was a bit tired, and it was just a whole crap weekend.

?I'm having a rest day on Monday, then I've got to sort out another van, so I've got a busy week ahead again! It's just nice to have everything all set up and just get in there and drive.

?Fingers crossed it all evens out and I get some luck going my way for a change.?
