MONARCHS CAN GO TOP

The Scotwaste Monarchs can move to the top of the Premier League if they can manage to beat Glasgow Tigers at Armadale tomorrow (Friday).

Glasgow might have something to say about that of course, because they won on their last visit to Armadale in the Premier Trophy. However the home riders now have a great incentive to ensure that doesn't happen again.

Club chairman Alex Harkess said "We've done very well to get in to this position in the league after a shaky start to the season. We've won our first three away league matches and we don't want any slip-ups tomorrow."

Birmingham were pipped by two points at Sheffield on Thursday (having twice won there this season in other competitions) which leaves Rye House at the top of the table with 21, the same as Birmingham. Monarchs are on 20 so a win tomorrow will see them jump to the no. 1 position!

Their new signing German Tobias Busch has now arrived in Edinburgh.
