The Scotwaste Monarchs suffered their second rainoff in as many days when the match at Stoke was postponed a few minutes after the scheduled start time.

Heavy rain from around 5 had left the track a bit of a quagmire, and the Edinburgh riders were in little doubt that the calloff was the correct decision.

Thomas H Jonasson said "Yes, the track was bad" and Andrew Tully's view was "It should have been called off two hours earlier.

"When you walked on it you felt as if you were drunk you slipped about so much. If you put your foot on it is went right in to the surface and formed a puddle!"
