We made a good start at Sheffield then made rather hard work of things against the lively Tigers, before squeezing through by 93-87 on aggregate.

To be fair to Sheffield they do seem to have perked up their recent performances, but looking at it from our own point of view it was probably our poorest display of the season.

We were 13-11 up after four heats but then clicked into reverse gear, losing three 5-1s and two 4-2s to sit at 34-20 after nine heats (the same as at Scunthorpe!)

No TRs remember, and in the end it took a very brave ride by Matthew Wethers in heat 13 and a good second by Andrew Tully in heat 14 to ensure that we went through.

We did pick up 8+1 from Thomas's rider replacement rides, but for once Michal Rajkowski had a poor match (2 from 5).

We now race Workington in the quarter finals in mid-June.
