We are pleased to announce that former Monarchs' skipper Theo Pijper has answered the call to fill the missing place in Monarchs' side for their final home match, replacing Derek Sneddon.

Theo will be riding a bike borrowed from Derek. He hasn't ridden for a while but agreed to come in for the Scottish Cup tie as it was proving impossible to find a guest. So many riders have packed up their equipment for the season or were unwilling to travel.

He has ridden this season for Swindon and Mildenhall, and appeared in Monarchs' Jubilee meeting, but hasn't had a UK meeting for a couple of months. A chance sighting in Edinburgh alerted us to the fact that he might be available.
