The Scotwaste Monarchs are delighted to announce that our home match against Workington on Monday 11th August will be screened by Sky Television.

Watching Monday night Speedway on Sky has become a regular habit for thousands of fans, but many have said they would like to see more Premier League racing. There have been a couple of Premier matches from Reading and Isle of Wight this year, but this will be Sky's most northerly visit.

Naturally they wanted a match which will have a bearing on this year's title race, and Monarchs are clearly involved in that. The initial suggestion was a fixture against current league leaders Somerset, but that proved awkward to fit into the Rebels' schedule.

Most Armadale supporters would agree though that there could be no more suitable fixture than one against Workington Comets, with their star men Daniel Nermark, Carl Stonehewer and Kauko Nieminen.

Comets are currently the only team with 4 away wins in the League; they are third in the table with Monarchs fourth, but both very much in a challenging position.

Armadale will be delighted to welcome Kelvin Tatum, Nigel Pearson, Chris Louis etc., the familiar figures of Monday night Speedway.
