The weather was threatening and we had some machine problems, but otherwise we cruised to another 50-plus away score to record our first win at Birmingham.

As has been the case so often, it was a great seven man showing with all riders picking up at least one paid win in a team where points ranged from paid 5 to paid 13.

We took the lead at heat 7 and at that point it seemed the match was ours to throw away. We didn't do so though we did have a few machine problems.

Thomas Jonasson mistakenly went out without a steel shoe in heat 1, pulling out on the first corner and slightly baulking William Lawson, but thereafter he was flying.

Derek Sneddon fell in his opener than added eight points, and we had double figure returns from Lawson and Fisher, even though William went through the tapes in one while his engine was making unsavoury noises, and Ryan had trouble getting started in his last coule of heats.

Andrew Tully was also hamered by machine problems, however in spite of all this we took control in the second half of the match.

We had one wee stroke of luck in heat 12 when Jason Lyons stopped while leading on his TR ride. Having said that Andrew Tully had stopped on the secpnd bend when he seemed to be taking the lead!

A very good showing in a match affected by heavy pre-match rain.
