  Edinburgh Monarchs

The Scotwaste Monarchs were beaten 35-57 at Somerset in their last away league fixture, a match completed in 73 minutes.

This was Edinburgh's contribution to the Somerset effort in completing two matches within the allotted 3 hours, which was achieved with ease. Newcastle lost the second match 38-55.

There was a fair amount of entertainment, and all the Edinburgh riders achieved something during the match.

Kaj Laukkanen won two heats and generally rode well, while Matthew Wethers came on strong and defeated Magnus Zetterstrom in heat 13.

It will be a tall order for Monarchs to take the bonus when the return match is raced on Friday, but they will certainly be looking for the win.
