  Edinburgh Monarchs

The weakened Scotwaste Monarchs fought hard against the full strength Tigers at Armadale, but came up short in a 41-49 defeat.

They dropped behind in heat 3 and although the scores were closed up to within 2 points at heat 6 and again at heat 9, th Monarchs never edged ahead on the night.

Derek Sneddon won his first two heats, Matthew Wethers pulled off some great overtakes during the evening and Kaj Laukkanen had some speedy rides in mid-meeting.

Would they have won with a fit Stancl and a fit Tessari? Well it's a pointless question really. The point now is to win as many matches before the end of the season as possible, and start working towards a strong side next year. There are certainly plenty of low-to-middle order riders to choose from.

For Tigers, Shane Parker was better than ever, David McAllan and Robert Ksiezak went well but Craig Watson seems a shadow of his former self.
