The Scotwaste Monarchs had ten points to spare at the end of a tough Premier League match against Isle of Wight which was heavily affected by the wet weather.

There were some interesting heats, especially featuring Jason Bunyan and the flying Chris Holder, though conditions were certainly difficult.

There is concern over a knee injury sustained by Daniele Tessari who went through the fence in heat 11. He withdrew from the meeting and is sure to miss the trip to Berwick on Saturday.

The steadiness of Matthew Wethers, Derek Sneddon and Andrew Tully was again a key factor in withstanding the Islanders' challenge.

Ronnie Correy won only one heat and didn't look all that comfortable, while William Lawson had problems with bike and track until he put things together for a brilliant heat 15 in which he became the first rider to beat Holder.
