The Scotswaste Monarchs will field an all Scottish pair in the Premier Pairs at Ashfield on Sunday.

It was believed that Theo Pijper would be able to ride, but he has been told by his parent federation that he must ride in France on Sunday.

With Matthew Wethers injured, Daniele Tessari in Italy and Henrik Moller in Poland, the mantle falls on reserve Derek Sneddon to team up with William Lawson.

Derek is an ex-Tiger and has had some good results at Ashfield this season.

It isn't the first all-Scottish pair to represent the Monarchs, in 1999 James Grieves and Kevin Little represented the club in the Premier Pairs at Newport
