The Parsons Peebles Monarchs turn their attention to cup competition this week as we head to Sheffield in the first leg of our Knockout Cup quarter final clash.

The Monarchs could not have asked for a much tougher draw with the Tigers hotly tipped this season having topped the preseason pundit’s poll in the Speedway Star and they have started the season well and are currently unbeaten at home having recorded a minimum of 50 points in all official fixtures so far.

Leading the way so far for the Yorkshiremen has been Kyle Howarth who is having his finest season in the sport. The 23 year old former Monarch is currently averaging almost 9 points a match and has been nigh on unbeatable round his home Owlerton circuit. Kyle being well backed up by Lasse Bjerre, Josh Grajczonek and Todd Kurtz who all have averages north of 8 round their home shale so far this year so we have a big test ahead.

Of course the Parsons Peebles Monarchs go into the match full of confidence after another fantastic weekend recording maximum points from our two matches against Redcar and Scunthorpe.

Sheffield have openly admitted they are looking for a 12 point lead to bring north for Friday’s second leg but our boys travel anywhere looking to win so this looks like a barnstormer of a tie let’s see if the Monarchs can carry on the unbeaten start to the season.
